The Königstour – Wonderfully attractive with fantastic panoramas and delicious cuisine
6 mountains, 35 km of pistes, and 7500 vertical metres: for those who like a bit of adventure, the majestic Königstour takes you through the entire ski area of the Hochkönig region, seamlessly linking the villages of Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach. It has been justly recognised by the world’s leading test portal as the best ski circuit in the Alps, offering not just limitless ski pleasure for all the family, but also a wide variety of culinary highlights right on the piste.

This breathtaking panoramic tour in Salzburger Land is a classic, warranting mention alongside the likes of the Sella Ronda or the White Ring circuits. Thanks to the construction of the new Sonnbergbahn and Natrunbahn lifts, the tour is even becoming one mountain richer from the winter season 2018/2019. Starting this season, the popular Königstour will be able to proudly boast six mountains, increasing from the previous five, extending the tour to include the Natrun mountain too. This marks the realisation of a direct link from Maria Alm, something that has been a vision for many years.

Explore the whole ski area in just one day
The Königstour can be started at any point, in Maria Alm, Dienten or Mühlbach. Of course, you can complete just parts of the Königstour if you don’t have the time or the fitness level to do all of it in one go. Finding your way is child’s play thanks to the route being perfectly marked with yellow and orange direction signs, and you can also easily find out where you are from a free piste map, available at all lift offices.

Enjoy fantastic views from various rest points along the route
There are various places to stop off for a rest en route and enjoy the gorgeous views. These are easily recognisable by their impressive wooden thrones, simply waiting to be discovered for you to enjoy the fabulous panorama, and offering you a great photo opportunity. If you happen to have forgotten your camera but still want that perfect souvenir photo, you can have your photo taken automatically at the 3 photopoints. These are located at the highest points on the Königstour: Aberg Langeck, Gabühel, and the top station of the Kings Cab. Your ski pass operates the automatic camera, and you can download and share your photos at www.skiline.cc.

There are 15 caches for geocachers to find along the route. On payment of a deposit, you can borrow a GPS unit free of charge from the tourist offices in Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach along with with a geo-caching folder and coordinates of the caches.
