In the past, people sat a little closer together in the parlors of mountain farms at Christmas, especially when it got particularly cold outside. The parlor was heated, the rest of the rooms were cold. The whole family gathered in this one room, so filled with warmth and humanity.
Of course, the earth keeps turning, times change. But we at Urslauerhof also want to let our traditions live at this special time of year. Our contemplative hour with all our guests in the afternoon of December 24, the homemade cookies and our festive menu are just as cherished customs of our house as the tower brass band at the mountain church of Hinterthal or the annual Christmas mass read in our parish church.
